FAQs

WORKING WITH US

Do you work with interior designers, stylists or wholesale buyers?

Absolutely—we love working with stylists, interior designers (both residential and commercial), and are open to wholesale enquiries too. Just drop us a line at hello@philippabianchi.com and we’ll take it from there.

How long does it take to make a lampshade? And can you handle urgent orders?

Each of our lampshades is hand-painted and made to order, so we usually need around 4–8 days. If you’re in a rush, do let us know—we’ll always try our best to help where we can.

SHIPPING & DELIVERY

Where do you ship from?

All our lampshades are shipped from Malta. For local orders, once your shade is ready, you should receive it within 1–2 working days via Maltapost Registered. Prefer to pick it up in person? That’s totally fine—just let us know and we’ll refund the shipping fee.

Do you ship across Europe?

Yes, we ship throughout Europe using Maltapost Registered. This usually takes around 6 days once the item is ready. Can’t see your country listed at checkout? Just get in touch at hello@philippabianchi.com and we’ll sort it out.

What about shipping to the US?

At the moment, our standard fittings are made for UK and European lamps. If you’d like to order a shade with a US fitting, please email us directly. We’ll talk through options and shipping costs.

Do you cover import duties or taxes outside Malta?

We don’t cover any customs charges or import fees—those will need to be handled by the customer.

RETURNS

What’s your returns policy?

Since all our shades are handmade to order, we don’t accept returns or offer refunds once they’ve been made and shipped. If you have any concerns, though, please do get in touch—we’re here to help.

LAMPSHADE FITTINGS

What fittings do you use?

All our lampshades are made to fit both UK and European lamps. We include a reducer ring with every shade—keep it in for a UK fitting (3cm) or remove it for a European one (4cm).

  • Conical shades: These have a top fitting with a deeper drop (3.5–4cm from fitting to base).

  • Cylindrical shades: These have a bottom fitting.

CARE & SAFETY

How should I clean my lampshade?

Our shades are hand-painted on cotton, so they’re delicate. We recommend unwrapping them with clean hands and keeping water far away. For dust, use a soft cloth or feather duster—no sprays or wipes.

What type of light bulb should I use?

All shades are lined with fire-retardant card. We strongly recommend low-wattage LED bulbs—they're gentler, safer and won’t leave heat marks.

  • Large shades: Go for a large LED bulb around 20W

  • Medium or small shades: A standard-size LED bulb around 9.5W works perfectly

  • For a warm, cosy glow, look for bulbs between 2800–3000K.
